The discipline of Authentic Movement is a contemporary mystical practice centered in the development of embodied witness consciousness.
As a practice it is grounded in the relationship between mover and witness. For both, attention is concentrated in the development of the “inner witness”, wich is one way of understanding the development of consciousness.
Originated by pioneer dance therapist Mary Starks Whitehouse, developed by Janet Adler in the early 1980’s.
